Cheap Lift Pass Prices

Lift pass prices can vary depending on when you are going skiing. The cheapest lift passes are usually for pre-season weeks and near the end of the season. Peak weeks like Christmas, New Year, February half term and the Easter holidays will generally be more expensive. There are normally reduced priced lift passes for children and seniors and families can also make the most of reduction if booking altogether. The price of the lift passes vary according to which resort you are going to. A 3 valley lift pass will be more expensive than a pass for a smaller resort like Praz sur Arly. Prices will also vary between countries, so Bulgaria for example is cheaper than Austria due to the smaller ski domains that are available.

Ski Pass Coverage & Duration

There are different types of lift pass that you can buy. There is usually a choice between a local and area pass. The local pass will normally just cover one resort whereas the area pass may include many number of different resorts which are linked together. For example, if you are staying in Tignes you can buy a local pass which will let you ski around the different Tignes villages, however if you buy the area pass (Espace Killy pass) you can also ski over to Val d’Isère as well.
There are family passes which are normally for 2 adults and 2 to 4 children. Family lift passes are normally cheaper than buying the passes separately. You will need to show proof of family connections and the ages of the children but everyone in the group will receive a separate pass so you do not need to ski together.

The standard lift pass is a 6-day pass from Sunday to Friday. Any duration is possible however and you can select the start date for your pass. If you are arriving Saturday morning you can always by a half-day pass in resort.
