Whistler Blackcomb is Canada’s most famous resort. With the largest skiing area in the continent which is spread over two mountains, including the longest vertical drop in Canada it is not difficult to understand why it has become such a popular and well-know ski resort. In 2010 Whistler Blackcomb will host the Olympic and Paralympic games along with Vancouver so a lot of money is being put into improving all transport links in the area. There is a huge variety of skiing and snowboarding that can been done at Whistler Blackcomb and as it is the largest single ski area in North America you will definitely not get bored! This December the two mountains are going to be linked by a cable car which means that with a Whistler Blackcomb lift pass you can enjoy both mountains much more easily. Whistler is know for being slightly better for beginners whereas Blackcomb has some of the more challenging terrain. Learners can practise underneath the Olympic chairlift where there is a good beginners area. They can then take the Emerald Express chairlift which leads to some wide green runs. Intermediate skiers are spoilt for choice with over half the slopes to choose from including some excellent tree-lines runs and powder bowls. Blackcomb’s couloiur extreme is famous among all experienced skiers in the area as it offer as exhilarating experience for anyone who dares to try it! Snowboarders are also spoilt for choice at Whistler Blackcomb as there are 5 snowboard parks which offer rails, half pipes and ramps to challenge you! Whistler Blackcomb - Resort

Whistler Blackcomb is a huge resort and is comprised of different pedestrianised areas which are all within easy reach of each other. Whistler Village is at the heart of the resort and is where a lot of the action off the slopes takes place. It is a beautiful place to wander round as it has cobbled streets and squares which are all filled with shops and restaurants. There is the possibility of having spa treatments and there is a multi screen cinema which shows all the new releases. There is also a lively après ski scene for anyone who wants to continue having fun into the early hours of the morning! All in all the resort of Whistler Blackombe has something for everyone to enjoy.
